KINGSMAN: THE SECRET SERVICE

Initial concepts for the UI on Matthew Vaughn's uncompromising, colourful spy thriller. Early on I quickly fleshed out a couple of distinct styles for Valentine's lair and the Kingsman's HQ which we showed to Matthew Vaughn. The director wanted the headquarters for the Kingsman to be real and feel military, so we kept things simple and fairly utilitarian, but wanted to push Valentine. Richmond Valentine is a McDonalds eating megalomaniac billionaire, who's flamboyant persona and lifestyle meant I could be a bit more playful. Andrew Booth and I put our heads together and after some rough ideas and sketches, I simply kept the colours bright and the content bold to reflect the character and clearly display key UI plot points with a sense of fun. The main designs for Valentine were focused around his control table and portable devices. Selected concept designs below.
